Member Investment Choice

Member Investment Choice (MIC) options mean you can invest your super savings to achieve your personal financial goals.

As a member of AustSafe Super, you can invest your super savings in a range of three (3) pooled investment options or you can design your own portfolio by investing in one or more of the six (6) asset class investment options. For comprehensive information about asset classes and investing see the Introduction to Investing.  For a brief overview of AustSafe Super's asset allocation, click the link.

Making your investment choice

The choice that you make will depend on your attitude to risk and return and how comfortable you feel with these variables.

If you don't feel comfortable with risk you may choose to invest your super savings in defensive assets but if you aren't risk adverse you may choose to invest in growth assets. For more information about the asset classes visit the Introduction to Investing section in the Education Centre on this website.

The choice that you make may significantly impact the performance of your investment. If you don't make a choice you will automatically be invested in the Balanced option which is the AustSafe Super's default option.

Switching your investment choice

We understand your investment needs may change over time, so at AustSafe Super we offer you the ability to change your investment choice weekly. Switches processed up to close of business Wednesday of any week will generally become effective the Thursday of the following week. You will receive written confirmation of the change to your investment choice. If you switch online via MemberOnline you will be able to print a confirmation of your switch immediately.

Don't forget to consider investment risks before switching. If you want assistance in making a decision give your local Regional Manager a whistle.
